5 Ways to Grow in Your Faith and Relationship with the Lord Jesus in May
As we enter May, it’s the perfect time to renew our commitment to growing in faith and deepening our relationship with the Lord Jesus. The world constantly pulls at our attention, but as Daughters of the King, we must intentionally draw closer to Him. Here are five ways to strengthen your faith and walk with the Lord this month:
1. Commit to Daily Bible Reading
The Word of God is our spiritual nourishment. Just as our bodies need food, our souls need Scripture to stay strong. Make it a goal to read a chapter daily or follow a Bible reading plan. Meditate on the Word and ask the Holy Spirit to give you understanding. A great place to start is the Gospel of John or the Psalms for encouragement.
2. Strengthen Your Prayer Life
Prayer is how we communicate with our Heavenly Father. Set aside time each day to talk to God—not just to ask for things but to thank Him, seek His guidance, and pour out your heart. If you struggle with consistency, try journaling your prayers or setting reminders. Jesus often withdrew to pray, and we must do the same as His followers.
3. Offer Thanksgiving, Praise, and Worship
Hebrews 13:15 tells us to offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually. Psalm 100:4 reminds us to enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Psalm 22:3 declares that God inhabits the praises of His people. Make worship a daily practice—whether through singing, lifting your hands, or simply speaking words of gratitude to the Lord. Play worship music, meditate on His goodness, and offer a heart of thanksgiving. When we praise, we invite His presence into our lives, strengthening our faith and deepening our relationship with Him.
4. Surround Yourself with Faith-Building Community
We were never meant to walk this journey alone. Surround yourself with other believers who encourage you in your faith. Join a Bible study, attend church consistently, or find an accountability partner. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17), and having godly friendships will strengthen your walk with Christ.
5. Step Out in Faith and Obedience
Faith without action is dead (James 2:26). Ask the Lord to show you areas where you need to step out in obedience. Maybe it’s sharing the Gospel with someone, serving in your church, or forgiving someone wronged you. When we obey God, our faith grows, and we experience His power in our lives.
A Call to Action: Walk in Faith this April
This month, challenge yourself to deepen your relationship with the Lord. Choose one or more of these five ways and commit to being intentional about your faith. The more we seek Jesus, the more we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). Let’s grow together, Daughter of the King!
